With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Marjorie E. Stokes of Nokomis, Illinois, born in Gillespie, Illinois, who passed away on October 22, 2023 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Thomas and Geneva LaVonne Miller (Cox); her children, Russell Brooks and Nancy Brooks; her granddaughter Jennifer Brooks; and her sisters, Mabel Waggoner and Mary Kautz.
She is survived by: her husband Everett Brooks; her children, Christine Hood (John) of Dawson and Thomas Brooks of Nokomis; her grandchildren, Bobby Hood (Nicole), Brian Hood (Kaitlyn), Becky Brooks, Brittney Brooks, Nathan Brooks, Natasha Eskra (Eric), Niccole Trusty and Janis Tom (Chris); her great grandchildren, Bailey, Brody, Ramsey, Anna, Ryett, Damian, Branson, Braden, Topanga, Sebastian, Elizabeth, Ethan, Eli and Carter; and her sisters, Betty Ann Burrus, Jeannie Mays (Wiley) and Julie Helm (Bill). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
