She was predeceased by: her parents, William Johnson and Etta Johnson (Croon); her son John DeWerff; her son-in-law Nyle Schmedeke; her stepgranddaughter Heather West; her brothers, Melvin Johnson, Vernon Johnson and Cliff Johnson; and her siblings-in-law, Peggy Johnson, Nete Johnson, Freda DeWerff and Harold DeWerff.
She is survived by: her children, Cheryl West (Johnie) of Morrisonville and Ronald DeWerff (Dawn) of Nokomis; her daughter-in-law Carolyn DeWerff; her grandchildren, Cheri Herpstreith (Scott), Duane Schmedeke (April), Angie Wolfe (David), Brian Schmedeke (Kedra), Jodi Kinkelaar (Jeff), Becky Koerner (Patrick), Dan DeWerff (Lisa), Jay DeWerff (Dani), Cody DeWerff (Jami), Greg DeWerff (Lauren) and Gabe DeWerff; her stepgrandson John West, Jr. (Jamie); and her sister-in-law Irene Johnson. She is also survived by 36 great grandchildren.
