He is survived by: his wife Ruth Ann Kates; his children, Jodi Mines (Todd) of Galesburg, Kristy Joyce (Hal) of Witt, Holly Smith (Rick) of Concord, MI, David Michael Ishmael (Mary) of Murfreesboro, TN, Robert Ishmael (Prudence) of Nokomis and Becki Stolte (Wayne) of Nokomis; and his brother John Ishmael of Chicago.
