He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Slankard and Eva (Dorsey); his wife Neva Elizabeth Wyatt; and his siblings, Chuck, Leroy, Bill, Ralph Slankard, Lena and Joyce.
He is survived by: his sons, Garry Slankard (Theresa), Jerry Slankard (Judy), Jim Slankard (Tammy) and Billy Dean Slankard (Cheryl); and his grandchildren, Mark Slankard (Cigdem), Melanie Mehay, Tina Lawver (Ted), Terrie Calhoun (Will), Mindy Hoopingarner (David), Tracey McCracken (Ken), Ted Slankard (Tina), Kyle Slankard (Trisha), Diedre Slankard, Adam Slankard, Jacob Slankard, Tiffany Cowger (David), Gwen Scheibel (Jerome) and Bill Slankard (Stephanie). He is also survived by numerous great grandchildren.
