He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford McDowell and Margaret (Patterson); and his brothers, Gaylen, Merle and Paul McDowell.
He is survived by: his children, Scott McDowell (Connie) of Olney and Vicki Shawver (Jack) of Olney; his close friend Debbie Blank of Louisville, IL; his grandchildren, Lacy Walters (Kirk), Colby Shawver (Alexis), Brittany Dixon (Connor), Coen McDowell and Cade McDowell; his great grandchildren, Rylyn, Irelan, Parker, Brynn and Case; and his sisters, Christine Guyer and Ruth Ann Hazel. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
