He is survived by: his former wife Marjorie Runyon; his children, Cory (Mallory Shamhart) of Newton and Kearstin (Ryan Mefford) of Charleston; his wife Gayle Glumac of Newton, Illinois; his grandchild Kamdyn Mefford; his brothers, Bruce "Doodle" Shamhart of Wheeler, Illinois, Brad (Josie Shamhart) of Wheeler and Roger (Julie Shamhart) of Newton; his parents-in-law, Karen Crivokapich of Monee and Richard Glumac of Hammond; and his sister-in-law Christine (Joe Joyce) of Monee.

In loving memory of Randy, memorials may be made to the Newton Firefighter Association- Equipment fund.
