It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Ellen Oakley of Newton, Illinois, born in Edwards, Illinois, who passed away on October 2, 2023, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Vernon Harris and Ethel Harris (Bunting). She is survived by: her husband William Oakley of Newton; her children, David Oakley (Jonathan Wimer) of Mayetta, Kansas, Paul Oakley (Walter Lazenby) of Waynesboro, Virginia, Daniel Oakley (Beth) of Lakewood and Thomas Oakley (Valerie) of Drayden; and her siblings, Robert Harris (Carol) of Carthage and Sandra Hortin (Jim) of Albion. She is also survived by Six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
