He is survived by: his children, Deanna Plegge (Ben) of Celebration, Patrick Smothers (Jane) of Phelps and Greg Smothers (Melissa) of Georgetown, Indiana; his siblings, Gilbert Smothers, Jr., Sue Ellen Johnson, Christine Johnson and Mary Barrett; and his grandchildren, Caden Plegge, Layne, Haydan and Natalie Smothers. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
