Sheila Janine (Holt) Summerson Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Sheila Janine (Holt) Summerson of Newark, Illinois, who passed away on February 15, 2025 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ronald Holt and Julia Holt (Halsall); her husband Howard Summerson; and her children, Kelly Tuntland and Gregory Summerson.
She is survived by: her son-in-law Merle Tuntland of Newark, IL; her sons, Bret Summerson (Tricia) of Eagle River, WI and Joseph Summerson (Mavis) of Newark, IL; her great grandchildren, Amanda (Phillip) and Tarr (Gilly); and her grandchildren, Jake (Jessica), Garrett, Olivia, Sarah (Marco), Ariza (Brooke), Erin (William), Wolfe (Rowan), Forrest (Jessica), Beth Summerson (Spencer Roudabush) and Cody Summerson.
Visitation was held on Friday, February 21st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Cross Lutheran Evangelical Church (8609 IL-47, Yorkville, IL 60560). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 11:45 AM at the Cross Evangelical Lutheran West Cemetery (9649 Ament Rd, Yorkville, IL 60560).
