He was predeceased by: his parents, William P. Mayer and Margaret Mayer (Popovits); his daughter Joan M. Mayer; and his brother Ken Mayer. He is survived by: his wife Joan L. Mayer (Buber); his children, Sharon Rogers (John), Jennifer Mayer (Chris Jennings) and William Mayer Jr. (Sarah); his brother Tom Mayer (Roberta); and his grandchildren, Daniel Rogers, Holly Rogers and Dolores Rose "Lola" Mayer.
