He was predeceased by: his wife Norma "Jean" Schmidt; and his siblings, Lenore Neruda (late Frank) and Ralph Schmidt (Jean). He is survived by: his children, Diana (Justin), Mark (Susan) and Brian (Diane); his grandsons, Matthew and Nathan; and his brother Ron Schmidt (Kay).
