Norma Louisa (Norma Louisa Matt) Garza Obituary
Norma Louise Garza (nee Matt) 40-year resident of New Lenox, passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at her home. Norma was born in Bloomington, IL to the late Louis and Norma Jean (nee Redman) Matt. She graduated Pullman School in 1949 and Fenger H.S. in 1953. She married Robert Anthony Garza on September 3, 1955. She is survived by her four children, Jodi (John) Posego, Jean (Mark) Fisher, Michael (Lori) Garza, and son Robert Garza; eight grandchildren, Cody Garza, Jesse Fisher, Robert Garza, Gina (Rosauro) Perez, Joshua Fisher, John (Samantha) Posego, Kyle Posego, and Laurene Posego; two brothers, Lawrence (Carol) Matt, and Gerald (the late Marilyn) Matt; numerous nieces, nephews and former daughters-in-law Sandy Garza and Tammy Garza, also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert, and a brother Duane Matt.
Norma worked in the Loop as a tele typist. She bowled at Country Lanes in New Lenox for 40 years, loved stitching, and was an avid Chicago Blackhawks fan. She and her husband traveled to South Korea for the 30-year anniversary of the Korean War, and Norma and her brother's traveled to Germany. Norma's family wishes to thank her many friends for thier love and lifelong support, as well as at this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Norma's name to Wreaths Across America, American Lung Association, or Disabled American Veterans would be appreciated. Family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel 102 E Francis Rd, New Lenox on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 from 10:00am – 12:00pm. Internment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood.
