With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Abelardo V. Tijerina (New Lenox, Illinois), born in Asherton, Texas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 6, 2025 at the age of 87. Though Abelardo has departed this earthly realm, his legacy endures — a legacy of love that will continue to illuminate the lives of family and friends in the darkest of hours. May his spirit soar on wings of eternal peace, forever cherished in the tender embrace of memory.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Juan Tijerina and Aurora Tijerina; his wife Anita Tijerina; his children, Randolph Tijerina (Elvelina), Daniel Tijerina (Stephanie), Marcy Valentine (Vince), Austin Tijerina, Lily Valentine, Luke Valentine and Lance John Valentine; and his sibling Amparo. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Kurtz Memorial Chapel (102 East Francis Road, New Lenox, IL 60451). A prayer was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the same location.
