He is survived by: his wife Jill Bates (Roark) of New Haven; his children, Chad Bates (Amy) of West Frankfort, Andrea Waite of Harrisburg and Kelie Quarles (Keith) of Newburgh, IN.; his mother-in-law Betty Roark of New Haven; and his grandchildren, Gannon Wargel, Preston Wargel, Griffin Quarles, Quincy Bates and Keaton Bates.
