He was predeceased by: his parents, Rual N. Tanner and Dimple H. Tanner (Cross); his daughter Gwenda Elaine Tanner; and his siblings, Richard "Dick" Tanner (Jo), David Tanner and Lynn Tanner (Charlie).

He is survived by: his wife Minnie Joe Duty; his daughters, Channa Harrison (Shane) of Tunnel Hill and Katrina Burnett of Vienna, Illinois; his grandchildren, Aaris Farmer (Ben) of Burnet, Jessica Waters (Bryan) of Vienna, Dillan Harrison (Hannah) of Carrier Mills, Savannah Casey (Brandon) of Vienna and Channa "C. J." Noe (Andru) of Dahlgren, Illinois; his great grandchildren, Lakota, Gracie, Caden, Brooke, Kaylee, Karsen and Gwendalyn; and his siblings, Donna White of Ozark, Shirley Brown, Melba Tanner of New Burnside, Karon Scates (Bill) of Shawneetown, Debra Bush (John) of Harrisburg, Gary Tanner (Helen) of New Burnside and John Tanner (Margaret) of Simpson, Illinois.. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and his brothers-in-law who he considered his own brothers.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 29th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Bailey Funeral Home (705 N 1st St, Vienna, IL 62995). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 29th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.

Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
