He was predeceased by: his parents, William G. Thoele and Annie Thoele (Frerker); his brother Robert Thoele; and his niece Kim Koontz. He is survived by: his wife Margaret Kollmann; his daughters, Sharon Deutsch (Michael) of New Memphis, Cynthia Ogden (Kevin) of New Baden and Cheryl Viviano (Carrie) of Aurora, Colorado; his grandson Nicholas Thoele of Bloomington, IL; his stepgrandchildren, Kevin Ogden (Brittany) of Glen Carbon, IL and Amanda Tincher (Charlie) of Trenton; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Jayden, Lily and Cameron; his sister Lucille Koontz (Gary) of New Baden; and his nieces and nephews, Jeffery Koontz of New Baden, Jody Koontz (Melissa Haley) of Albers and Lynn McDuffey (Wallace) of Carlyle.
