He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles J. Bastian, and Margaret Marie Bastian, Jr. (Richardson); and his brothers-in-law, Jim Cliatt and Gary Yerace. He is survived by: his children, Jennifer Ann Dischbein, Jason Thomas Bastian and Jessica Elise McGee; his grandchildren, Lilliona Marie, Duane Thomas and Hunter Wayne; his siblings, Charles Bastian, Jr. (Judy), Betty Hesek, Jean Cliatt, Carol Ann Winasky, Jim Bastian, Jackie Engelmann (David) and Jane Yerace; and his nephew Justin Cary Bastian.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 3rd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, February 4th 2025 from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Nordike Funeral Home (15 E Hanover St, New Baden, IL 62265). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 4th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, February 4th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery (2900 Sheridan Rd, St. Louis, MO 63125).
In memory of Thomas, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice and will be graciously received at Nordike Funeral Home, located at 15 East Hanover Street, New Baden, IL 62265.
