Rita Theresa Sander Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Rita Theresa Sander (New Baden, Illinois), who passed away on July 19, 2022 at the age of 76. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Francisco and Mary; and her sister Connie. She is survived by: her sons, Edward Jr. and Aaron; her husband Edward Sander; and her grandchildren, Alina, Matthew, Jackson, Lyla and Maya. She is also survived by nephews, nieces and cousins.
In her later professional years, while a professor at SIU-E, Rita served on the Board & Steering committee of PandemicPrep. org and received research grants focused on Pandemic Flu and BioTerrorism preparedness.
