It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Loretta M. Hammond of New Athens, Illinois, who passed away on May 4, 2021, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Wilfred Hammond; her daughter Donna Casperson; her parents, Rolland and Clara; her brothers, LaVerne and Norman Kinzinger; and her siblings-in-law, Paul Hammond, Ray Probst, Lela, Vera Kinzinger and Dolores Hammond.
She is survived by: her daughter Charlotte Hammond of Haddam, CT; her sons-in-law, Ivan Shevchenko of Haddam, CT and Jerry Casperson of Wildwood, MO; her brothers, Cletus Kinzinger of New Athens, IL and Ralph Kinzinger of Freeburg, IL; her siblings-in-law, Carol Kinzinger, Ida Probst of New Athens, IL, Gladys Kinzinger of Freeburg, IL, Barbara Hammond of Smithton, IL and Edward Hammond of Caseyville, IL; her grandchildren, Alexis Shevchenko, Christine Shevchenko (Tim Goulet), Julianna Shevchenko, Mallory Casperson (Brett Jones) and Lucas Casperson (Jackie); and her great grandchild Tennyson Jones. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Due to COVID-19 guidelines, face masks must be worn at all times while inside the funeral home and the church.
