Delores Harriss Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Delores Harriss of New Athens, Illinois, who passed away on July 26, 2023, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Suemnicht and Jeanette Suemnicht (Goeddel); and her parents-in-law, Edward and Grace Harriss. She is survived by: her husband James Harriss; her children, Jill Alfeldt (Jim) of New Athens and Scott Harriss (Dionne) of New Athens; her grandchildren, Jonathan Alfeldt, Jenna Alfeldt, Grant Harriss, Jack Alfeldt and Jolie Alfeldt; her brothers, Vernon Suemnicht (Pam), Cletus Suemnicht (Sharon) and Leroy Suemnicht (Joni); and her siblings-in-law, Betty Sheeler (Tom), Cecil Harriss (Bonnie), Paul Harriss (Mardean), Kenny Harriss (Marsha) and Chuck Harriss (Jean). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to St. John's United Church of Christ in New Athens or the Alzheimer's Association.
