He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Recker and Ann Recker (Jansen); his former wife Diane Loesche; his wife Darlene Birkner-Recker; his son Stephen Recker; his brothers, Thomas Recker and Jerry Recker; his siblings-in-law, Robert Pence, Douglas Jones, Larry Loesche and Frannie McDonnell (Loesche); and his godchild Robin Pence.
He is survived by: his children, Michael Recker (Susan) of Belleville, IL, Carla Wirth (Richard Braun) and Thomas Recker of New Athens; his sisters, Joann Pence of O'Fallon, IL, Elaine Jones of Smithton, IL and Bernadette Dehn (Leroy Simon) of Belleville, IL; his grandchildren, Amber, Kristen, Kara Recker, Greg Wirth, Rebecca Vogt, Stephen, Kris, Garrick, Matthew, Kaylie Recker and Misty Volner (Megan Recker); his great grandchildren, Kiefer, Carter, Kynzli, Kyndal, Kynedi, Colt, Kameron, Lily, Tucker, Corrina, Elijah and Savannah; and his goddaughters, Niki Tucker and Rachel Recker.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Agatha Catholic Church (549 Mill St, New Athens, IL 62264). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, March 6th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
Memorials may be made to the American Alzheimer's Association.
