He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Hardesty and Hazel Hardesty (May); his son-in-law Michael Strong; his brother Leo Hardesty; his sister-in-law Helen Hardesty; his sisters, Rosemary Hardesty and Florence Ossowski; and his siblings-in-law, John Herring, Tammy Ferris, Judy Kingery and Chester Kingery.
He is survived by: his former wife Deborah Myers; his wife Debby Hardesty of Neoga, Illinois; his children, Christie Elson (Tim) of Neoga, Derek Hardesty (Debby Carman) of Neoga and Wendy Waldhoff (Tim) of Shumway, Illinois; his grandchildren, Riley, Jordon, Harley, Alex, Clayton (Mallory), Wesley (Ashlyn), Whitney Shonk (Tony), Hattie Mae Crouse (Bretton) and Bryar; his great grandchildren, Annabel, Rowan, Logan and Josephine; and his siblings, Jack Hardesty, William Hardesty (Karen) of Neoga, Illinois, Dorothy Harl (Junior) of Windsor and Mary Herring of Neoga, Illinois. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
