With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Helen Janet Short of Neoga, Illinois, who passed away on July 10, 2023 at the age of 108. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter S. Ponder and Ethel S. Ponder (Smith); her husband Bill Short; and her siblings, Ruth Daugherty and James Ponder.
She is survived by: her daughters, Janet Albin (Stanley), Linda Hanfland (Bill), Margaret "Peggy" Stuntz (James) and Barbara Beals (Kevin); and her grandchildren, William "Bill" Short (Jane), Joan Elaine Albin, William Albin (Connie), David Hanfland (Katie), Mark Hanfland (Sherri), Robert Stuntz (Alexandra), James Stuntz (Zoa), Krista Ledington (Greg), Dana Christensen (Scott), Dustin Lindley (Lynn), Jesse Lindley (Katianna), William Short (Kaylyn) and Christopher Short (Stephanie). She is also survived by 31 great- grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren.
