He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Northup and Myrtle Hinman Northup; and his sister Mary Peterson. He is survived by: his former spouse Pok Sun; his wife Nancy Kayser; his children, Shawn Northup (Trish) of Keokuk and Camille Whitaker (Bryan) of Burlington, IA; his stepchildren, Frank Cady (Simone) of Burnside, IL, Michele Campos (Carlos) of Summitville, S. C., Christina Money of Carthage, IL and Leann Cady of Oxford, GA; and his siblings, Harold Northup (Charleen) of Dallas City, IL, Harriet Hinman of Woodland Park, CO, Patsy Loos of Camp Point, IL and Jean Marie Crosby of Woodland Park, CO. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
