It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Louise Melwid (Naperville, Illinois), born in Chicago, Illinois, who passed away on January 8, 2025, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Kenneth Reinard and Geraldine Vera Briegel; and her grandmother Lou. She is survived by: her husband Cy Melwid of Bernadine's Catholic Church; her brother Kenneth Craig Briegel; her daughter Karen Hey; her son-in-law Thomas Mikus; her grandson Michael Melwid; her children, Debi Ladyman (Mike), Lori Matney (Gary), David Melwid (Helen), Cyndi Mikus-Rosset (Randy) and Lisa Warren (Tim); her sister Linda Hayes; and her aunt Lou. She is also survived by her many nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the MJM Fund at the Community Foundation of Bloomington and Monroe County.
