He was predeceased by: his father Mike Mitchell (Cheryle Mitchell); and his wife Cheryle. He is survived by: his children, Erin Willis (Dan) and Ryan Mitchell (Kathleen); his mother Herta Michel (Schumacher); his brother Jeff Michel (Gail); and his grandchildren, Ryleigh Willis, Delainey Willis, Olivia Mitchell, Luke Mitchell, Jacob Mitchell and Elyse Mitchell. He is also survived by his children and grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family will be accepting donations to provide for a memorial stone on the Naperville Riverwalk at the Exchange Club Memories Fountain.
