She was predeceased by: her parents, John Vaught and Gertrude Vaught (Martin); her husband Rolla "Gene" Verbal; her son-in-law Glenn Shands; and her sister JoAnn Carter.
She is survived by: her children, Brenda Hammann (John) of Springfield, IL, Richard Verbal (Barbara) of Murphysboro and Rhonda Shands of Murphysboro; her grandchildren, Lisa Hammann, Scott Hammann, Angie Keown, Karri Goodnight, Luke Verbal (Sarah), Amanda Verbal, Travis Shands (Amanda), Brittni Heilig and Haily Farner (Hunter); her great grandchildren, Tessa Verbal, Tyler Verbal, Logan Keown, Jacob Heilig, Noah Heilig, Mason Heilig and Ryder Strodick; and her great great grandchildren, Xavior Haney, Klayton Farner and Kingston Verbal.
