He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert F. Dodson and Rita Ann Dodson (Barnett); his nephew Mitch Chaney; and his siblings-in-law, Jackie Chaney and Jim Doss.
He is survived by: his wife Lana Mills; his son Darrin Mills (Leslie); his grandsons, Seth Daniels and Lane Mills; his sister-in-law Marie Doss; his uncle Carl Barnett (Carmen); his cousins, Jean Dahm (Jim) and Kenny Purcell (Shirley); his niece Bobbi Kay Chaney; his great-nephew Zach Chaney (Maddie); his close friend Paul Cruz (Anna); and also Rory Chaney.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 10th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Crain Pleasant Grove-Murdale Funeral Home - Old (31 Memorial Dr, Murphysboro, IL 62966). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 10th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, April 10th 2025 from 12:45 PM to 1:15 PM at 137 Murdale Gardens Rd, Murphysboro, IL 62966.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and/or Hospice of Southern Illinois.
