He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Herman and Elsie Treece Mohlenbrock. He is survived by: his children, Mark William Mohlenbrock of Arizona, Wendy Mohlenbrock Preece (David) of Murphysboro and Trent Alan Mohlenbrock (Beth) of Carbondale; his grandchildren, Jason Mohlenbrock (Shawna) of Arizona, Korinna Finfrock (Herbert) of Arizona, Marian Holliday (Nathan) of Arizona, Heather Cain (Blake) of Springfield, Andrew Mohlenbrock of Nashville, Dylan Preece (Emily) of Denver and Madison Olsen (Nick) of Murphysboro; and his great grandchildren, Liam, Henry Cain of Springfield, Ellie Auwen, Wyatt Holliday of Arizona and Adalyn Grace Olsen of Murphysboro.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donating in his name to the Jackson County Historical Society, 1616 Edith St, Murphysboro, IL 62966.

“My husband and I both had Dr Mohlenbrock for classes SIUC, and although this was over a decade apart, and we both have wonderful memories. He was my favorite teacher outside of my major. He will be remembered for his kindness, and his enthusiasm for his discipline.”
