It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rita Ann Cook of Murphysboro, Illinois, who passed away on March 23, 2025, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Rita Ann Cook to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles, Jr. Pellegrini and Doris Pellegrini (Rosenberger); her daughter Jean Ann; and her siblings, Joan Mifflin and Don Pellegrini.
She is survived by: her husband Tom; her sons, Garrett Cook (Sheri) and Loren Cook (Kim); her grandchildren, Brendon Cook (Meaghan), Ethan Cook (Madeline), Sydney Cook, Shelby Cook and Sarah Cook; and her nephews, Michael Mifflin, Kevin Beavers (Denise) and Ryan Beavers.
Visitation was held on Monday, March 31st 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Andrew Catholic Church (724 Mulberry St, Murphysboro, IL 62966). A funeral Mass was held on Monday, March 31st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, March 31st 2025 from 12:15 PM to 12:45 PM at the Tower Grove Cemetery.
In Lieu of flowers, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be made to the Accelerated Reading Program of St. Andrew School and/or St. Andrew Parrish.
