Lynda Gail Homan Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Lynda Gail Homan of Murphysboro, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 21, 2025 at the age of 71. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Loyd Derossett and Lois Derossett (Minton); her grandparents, Homer, Viola Minton, Loyd and Anna Derossett; her niece Lydia Derossett; her brother-in-law Russell Barringer; and also, Daisy and Raymond Homan.
She is survived by: her husband Charles Homan; her daughters, Melissa McDowell (Deryk) of St. Louis, MO and Megan Pittman (WJ) of Murphysboro, IL; her grandchildren, Dylan McDowell of St. Louis, MO, Brayden McDowell of St. Louis, MO, Zoey Cox of Murphysboro, IL, Eli Pittman of Murphysboro, IL and Gage Pittman of Murphysboro, IL; her siblings, Dennis Derossett (Katie) of Lincoln, NE, Jeff Derossett of Pomona, IL, Doug Derossett (Leigh) of Houston, TX, Lisa Kirby (Jim) of Murphysboro and Carla McElroy (Mike) of Mulkeytown, IL; her sisters-in-law, Luella McComb (David) of Murphysboro, IL and Nita Barringer of Murphysboro, IL; and also Lois Derossett of Murphysboro, IL. She is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, April 28th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, April 29th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 29th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:15 AM at the Immanuel Lutheran Church (1915 Pine St, Murphysboro, IL 62966). The inurnment was held on Tuesday, April 29th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be made to Immanuel Lutheran School.
