Leah Marie Sims Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Leah Marie Sims of Murphysboro, Illinois, who passed away on November 24, 2024 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Troy Shannon and Myrtle Elizabeth Bradley (Harper); and her husband Eugene T. Sims, Jr.. She is survived by: her children, Michael Bradley Sims, Kerry Lee Brockhagen (Patrick) and Jeanne Marie Wikete (Michael); her grandchildren, Evan Sims, Timothy Sims (Kimberly), Jessie Sims and Laura Lee Bowen (Mitchel); her great grandchildren, Hannah Sims and Leo Bowen; her great great grandchild Silas Sims; her sister-in-law Virginia Sims; and her caregivers, Tammy Boucher and Marcy Thomas.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 29th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Crain Pleasant Grove-Murdale Funeral Home - Old (31 Memorial Dr, Murphysboro, IL 62966). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 30th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the First Baptist Church (401 N 15th St, Murphysboro, IL 62966). A burial was held on Saturday, November 30th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the Pleasant Grove Memorial Park (31 Memorial Dr, Murphysboro, IL 62966).
Memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church in Murphysboro and/or Residential Hospice and/or Murphysboro Student Productions (Memo: Leah Sims Memorial and turned in at the Visitation or at the Funeral or at the Murphysboro High School Office).
