IN MEMORY OF: Kelley Jean Dougan, Serving Location: CRAIN PLESANT-GROVE MURDALE FUNERAL HOME, 31 Memorial Drive, Murphysboro, Illinois Kelley Jean Dougan, 60, of Murphysboro, passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at her home.
Kelley was born on September 7, 1962 in Murphysboro to Herbert and Shirley (Reeder) Dougan. She graduated from Murphysboro High School in 1980.
Kelley went straight into the work force where she started her near 20 career at SIH. She spent 10 years in New York, where she had many friends and worked for a large cardiology group. Kelley moved home to be closer to family. In 2006 she was hired to start up the new neurosurgery clinic for Dr. Jeff Jones and Angela Arnold. There she developed lifelong friendships. There was not a surgeon in the area Kelley didn't know or had worked with. She was well known for her tenacity and strong work ethic. She was a dedicated employee and will be greatly missed. Kelley is irreplaceable.
Her laugh was contagious and her smile was priceless. She was so witty and entertaining. Her family and close friends will miss that most. Kelley had a generous heart and was always willing to help where she could. She loved flower gardening, particularly her Orchids. Kelley enjoyed sports, especially cheering for the St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Chiefs. She loved the sand and the ocean. One of her favorite things was vacationing at the beach. There really aren't enough words to describe how amazing Kelley was.
Kelley is survived by her parents, Herb and Shirley Dougan of Murphysboro; her daughter, Brittany Brasel of Murphysboro; her sister, Christie (Kris) Ogolini of St. Louis; her aunt, Linda (Michael) Stadler of Murphysboro; many co-workers and friends including close friends, Angela Arnold, Katelyn Elder, Rob Deaton, Joey Francis, and Alyssa Kupferer.
