Harlen Wayne Porter Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Harlen Wayne Porter of Murphysboro, Illinois, who passed away on March 12, 2021 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Harlen O. Porter and Elsie Marie Porter (Bitner); and his son-in-law Andre Thorpe of Wichita, KS. He is survived by: his wife Dolores Porter of Murphysboro; and his children, Cheryl Thorpe of Wichita, KS, Linda Porter-Smith of Murphysboro, Steve Porter (Claire) of Murphysboro and Andrew Porter (Leigh) of Carterville, IL.. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions there is a 50 person capacity within the church. Social distancing practices and facial coverings will be required.
Harlen's family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be made to St. Andrew Catholic Church in Murphysboro or to the American Diabetes Association.
