We are sad to announce that on October 31, 2020, at the age of 70, Carolyn Spurgeon of Murphysboro, Illinois, born in Carlinville, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Jake Spurgeon and Betty Spurgeon (Wills); her nephews, Tony and Eric Spurgeon; her brother Kenny Spurgeon; her aunt Evelyn; her uncles, John Huff and Roy Spurgeon; her cousin Virgil "Bugas"; and her uncle Ted Spurgeon.

She is survived by: her pet Rebel; her husband James E. Trexler; her daughter Tammi Hardy; her grandsons, Dalton Hardy (Beth Winget) and Anthony Cash Spurgeon; her siblings, Richard Spurgeon, Tim Spurgeon (Susan Adams), Beverly Spurgeon of Murphysboro and Lisa Stein (John) of Murphysboro; her daughter Nicole Dorsey (Tim); her grandchildren, Mike, Makenzie, Layla and Kari Pursley (Justin); her great grandchildren, Josselyn, Jace, Cash, Brittney Spurgeon (Mike) and Tara Hernandez (Omar); her son Shane Spurgeon (Emily); her grandchildren, Gunner, Kyla, Saylor, Cody Stein (Megan) and Kyle Spurgeon; her great grandchild Hayden; her grandsons, Levi Spurgeon and Jacob Jones; her friend Virginia "Pepper" Herron; and also, Sydnee, Ryker, Zander, Khloe and Mila.
