He was predeceased by: his wife Louise; his daughter Mary Ellen Koutny; and his siblings, Frank Gudgeon, Robert Gudgeon and Margaret Finlayson.

He is survived by: his children, Julie Arfsten (Jeff) and Donna Roman (Mike). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
