He was predeceased by: his parents, Mark A. DeGroot and Marie Lebrun DeGroot; and his brothers, Paul and David. He is survived by: his wife Peggy; his children, Marc (Paula), James (Dawn), Marianne Roberts and John DeGroot; his grandchildren, Dr. Michael (Boram), Justin Ryan (Anna), Dr. Matthew (Ashley), Brendan, Sean DeGroot, Deirdre Floros (Casey), Evan and Andrew Roberts (Megan); and his siblings, Leo, Mary Jean and Guy.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church for masses or the Wounded Warrior Project.
