She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, William Henry and Mary Elizabeth Perdue (Burkhead); her husband James Gilbert "Gib" Benson II; her children, David Benson (Gloria) of Decatur, J. Gilbert "Gil" Benson III (Pam Windell) of Macon, Jackie Sue Crickman of Moweaqua, Peggy Lou Hatch (Skip) of Moweaqua, Patti Kay Brumleve (Mark) of Decatur, IL and Danny Lee; and her stepson Dick. She was also cherished by fifteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Macon, IL.
