She was predeceased by: her parents, Esmond Eugene and Lois June Galvin (Gordon); and her husband Stuart Louis "Louie" Chappell. She is survived by: her daughter Tia Rapps (Jim) of Springfield, IL; and her pets, Missy and Brownie.

Memorials may be made in Sonja's memory to the Alzheimer's Association or Animal Protective League, Springfield, IL.
