She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Vernon and Analda "Eloise" Vernon (Frederick); and her daughter Shanda Pilger. She is survived by: her husband Edward R. "Ed" Swope of Mt. Zion; her children, Chris Pilger (Stephanie) of Decatur, Brandon Pilger of Decatur, Shannan Cole of Niantic and Russ Swope of Portland, OR; her siblings, Michael Vernon (Shelly) of Mt. Zion and Ronda Vernon of Decatur; her brother-in-law John Swope (Pat) of Kennewick, WA; and her grandchildren, Asa, Eli, Willow, Casson, JaLia, Brenton, Zach and Dustin.
Memorials may be made in Jan's memory to Tabernacle Baptist Church.
