It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of William W. Martin of Mount Vernon, Illinois, who passed away on August 13, 2020, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his mothers, Melba I. Martin, Sr. (Balsover) and Elaine Martin (Willie); and his siblings, Jerry Martin and Pat Pennington. He is survived by: his daughters, Karen Backstrom (Mark) of Mount Vernon, Tonya Zinke (John Paul Braswell) of Mount Vernon and Lisa Hicks (Lyle) of Mount Vernon; and his grandchildren, Brandy Hensley (Brian Ewell), Misty Hensley, Alecia Zinke (Blake Mellott), Erika Zinke (Chad Bishop), Chelsea McMahon (Kent) and Lexi Flota (Bradley Rose). He is also survived by fourteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
