He is survived by: his wife Nellie Mellott (Tinsley); his children, Bill W. Mellott (Donna), Jeanie Muscolino (John), David Mellott (Diane Hart) and Jim Mellott (Jan); his grandchildren, Jason Mellott (Melissa), Christopher Mellott, Blake Mellott (Alicia), Josh McKinney (Mindy), Christina Hall (Anthony), Chelsea Young (Nick), Cassie Russell (Dylan) and Koty Mellott (Dakota); his great grandchildren, Jestine Dozier, Alli Mellott, Joel Mellott, Tucker Mellott, Ryder Mellott, Rylie Hatton, Ivy McKinney, Ashlee Hall, Lucas Russell, Mason Russell and Jackson Young; his brother Dean Mellott (Canna); and his siblings-in-law, Jim W Tinsley, Ruby Tinsley and Judy Tinsley.
