Wilda Mae Sumner Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Wilda Mae Sumner of Mount Vernon, Illinois, who passed away on January 23, 2021, at the age of 101, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Francis Green and Ina Green (Sammons); her husband Ray Sumner; her son Michael R. Sumner (Sandy) of Gillette, Wyoming; her grandson Jason Sumner; her great grandchild Amanda Fedderson; and her siblings, Angus Green, Amos Green and Bertha Shields.

She is survived by: her son Robert F. Sumner (Linda) of Evansville, Indiana; her grandchildren, Stephanie Hutt (Ryan) of Story, Stacie McDonald (Chris) of Gillette, Scott Sumner of Evansville, Indiana, Stuart Sumner of Evansville, Indiana and Amy Sumner of Evansville, Indiana; her great grandchildren, Grace McDonald, Finn McDonald, Madigan Hutt and Mick Hutt; her sister-in-law Helen Sumner of Spokane, Washington; and her nieces, Jackie Hayes of Florissant and Beverly Mullinax (Don) of Mount Vernon, Illinois. She is also survived by several other nieces and nephews.

Due to the pandemic and since we can't all be together, the family asks that you remember Mae by taking a drive in the country, go for a walk by the riverfront, or surround yourself with good company at your favorite restaurant.

Memorials may be made in Mae's honor to the Epworth United Methodist Church.
