Virginia Sue Nichols Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Virginia Sue Nichols of Mount Vernon, Illinois, who passed away on February 16, 2024, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Dwight Farris and Norma J. Storey (Allen); her stepfather Elton Storey; her husband Donald O. Nichols; her siblings, Reba French and Leroy Farris; and her niece Melanie Tucker.
She is survived by: her daughter Virginia Melton; her grandsons, Adam McCowen (Dani) and Patrick McCowen; her great grandchildren, Gavin, Gauge and Paisley; her siblings, Charlie Farris (Valerie) of Dunlap, IL, Dixie Tucker of Tustin, CA, Elton "Bud" Storey (Vickie) of Mt. Vernon, IL, Alan Farris (Pam) of East Peoria, IL, Judi Farris (Dan) of Wildwood, MO, Diana Bowman (Rick) of Pekin, IL, Pam MacPhee (Roger) of McLeansboro, IL and Tom Storey of Mt. Vernon, IL; and her nephews, Todd Farris and Robbie Morgan. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and will be accepted at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
