He was predeceased by: his parents, John Delbert Hiatt and Claudia Gail Gersbacher (Tate); his grandson Ethan Hiatt; and his sisters-in-law, Joyce Kramm and Diane Scherer.
He is survived by: his wife Vickie Hiatt (Sendelbach); his children, Michelle Barnard (John) of Mount Pleasant, DesiRae Drennan (Chris) of Woodlawn, Quentin Hiatt (Cassie) of Woodlawn, Shane Hiatt of Mount Vernon and Paul J. "Joey" Warren (Brianna) of Granite City, Illinois; his grandchildren, Gillian Barnard, Reeve Barnard, Taytum McRoy (Dylan), Aumalie Murdock, Kaylie Murdock, Ethan Drennan (Haley), Kendyl Drennan, Gabriel Crawford, Elizabeth Hiatt, Eli Hiatt, Penelope Hiatt, Paisley Hiatt, Devin Riley, Audrey Warren, Caitlin Authement, Emma McCormick, Grayson Habermass and Anna Goeke; his siblings, Tonya Mick (Dale) of Albers, Tracy Gersbacher of Desoto and John Hiatt II (Pam) of Mount Vernon, Illinois; his siblings-in-law, Sandy Sendelbach (Stacy Portney) and Michael Sendelbach; his mother-in-law Marilyn Sendelbach; and his pets, Rikki, Axel, Charley and Andy. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Memorials may be made in Doug's honor to Wounded Warriors, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, or Alzheimer's Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.
