It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Velma Barger of Mount Vernon, Illinois, born in Raleigh, Illinois, who passed away on July 28, 2020, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Joel Everett and Mary Bernice Downey (Roberts); and her husband Edward Barger. She is survived by: her son Eddie Barger of Galatia; and her sisters, Maxine Schimp of Eldorado and Donna Bradley of Eldorado. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and cousins.
