It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley Jean Pettit of Mount Vernon, Illinois, who passed away on November 18, 2022, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father Carroll King; her husband Wayne Pettit; her brother Bill King; and her sister-in-law Betty King. She is survived by: her daughters, Christy Stoltman (Bob) of Saint Louis and Carylle Sue Rankin (Gerald) of Mount Vernon, Illinois; her grandchildren, Anna Stoltman, RJ Stoltman, Kerstin Stoltman and Jennifer Rankin; her great grandchild Jadon Rankin; her nieces and nephews, Billy Tom King (Mary), Rodney King (Dana), George Robert Lancaster, Ronda McDowell (Mike), Melody Wilson (Kevin), Miriam Brooks and Kathy Kirkpatrick; and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Kitty and Tinkerbell.
Memorials may be made in Shirley's honor to First Free Will Baptist Church.
