It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ronald Smith of Mount Vernon, Illinois, who passed away on February 22, 2024, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his spouse Allura Linda Smith (Lean); his daughter Leilani Hayes; and his brothers, Steven Smith, Robin Smith and Jim Smith.

He is survived by: his children, Tanya Eblen of Mount Vernon, Curtis Smith (Pam) of Mount Vernon and Daniel O. Smith (Laura) of Mount Vernon; his grandchildren, Amanda Sears (Shawn), Robert Hayes, Jr. (Beth), Emma Wynn (Chad), Jacob Smith, Cale Smith and Adrian Modglin; and his great grandchildren, Shae Sears, Sloan Sears, Peyton Hayes, Jace Hayes, Aspen Hayes, Lily Wynn and Kainin Wynn.
