He was predeceased by: his parents, Louie Lovin and Mary Jane Lovin (Kehrer); and his siblings, Paul Lovin, Jerry Lovin, Marilyn Webber and Phyllis Voyles.

He is survived by: his wife Linda K. Lovin (Newton); his daughter Debra Morris (David) of Opdyke; his granddaughters, Brooke Morris Wheeler of Opdyke and Brittany Reeder (Daniel) of Bluford; and his great grandchildren, Lex Wheeler of Opdyke and Khloe Reeder of Bluford. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made in Robert's honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
