It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Paul Scott of Mount Vernon, Illinois, who passed away on March 16, 2023, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Scott and Ethel Scott; his grandson Robert Burroughs; and his siblings-in-law, Ronald Eller (Vera) and Wanda Livesay.
He is survived by: his former wife Una Mae Eller; his spouse Janith Chambliss; his children, Alan Scott (Denise) of Mount Vernon, Debra Spada (Tom) of La Center, Karen Brookman (Garry) of Sikeston and Sara DeNeal (Travis) of Harrisburg; his grandchildren, Duane Burroughs of Longview, Jennifer, Makayla Scott of Jacksonville, Kristina, Kristofer, Mikel Scott of Mount Vernon, Madeleine, Wilson DeNeal of Harrisburg and Tori Faulkner of Tallulah, Louisiana; his sister Margaret Elmira Kogok (Robert) of Reston, Virginia; his nieces and nephews, Robert Kogok, Jeffrey Kogok, Byron Eller, Russell Reaney, Kenneth Reaney, Linda Davenport and Madonna Talley; and his stepchildren, Howard Chambliss (Cheri) of Abilene, Donna Bauer of Mount Vernon and Paula Sexton of Yorkville. He is also survived by eight step-grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren, great nephews and nieces and many friends and neighbors.
Memorials may be made in Richard's honor to the Marlow General Baptist Church Building Fund.
